Our Psychiatrist is a  doctor of osteopathic medicine (D.O.) is a fully trained and licensed doctor who has attended and graduated from a U.S. osteopathic medical school (DO) who has expertise in mental health and have the ability to prescribe. He is  trained in both physical and mental health and the interaction between each other. Psychiatrists have a specialty in diagnosing, prescribing, and treating people with mental health conditions through medication.

Psychiatrists assess your mental and physical symptoms during an evaluation. A psychiatric evaluation is completed to diagnose mental health conditions and to provide treatment recommendations which can include the option of medication.  Our psychiatrist believes that psychotropic medication can be profoundly beneficial, and that the best outcomes are usually achieved by medication, which can reduce distressing symptoms, and psychotherapy.

The decision about medication is made after careful collaboration between you, the prescribing psychiatrist, and other mental health professional within our practice. Prescription medications can be helpful as a stand-alone treatment, or in combination with other clinical interventions such as psychotherapy, or other alternatives. we specialize in providing cutting-edge, evidence-based treatments for a wide range of issues.

Our goal it to provide children, adolescents, and adults with options based on their needs and preferred outcomes. We work with individual trying to cope with: sleep disorders, depression, anxiety, ADHD, bipolar disorder, trauma, chronic pain, stress, substance abuse, weight loss, sexual and relationship concerns, and many other common and complex conditions or issues.

What is our approach to medication management?

Everyone responds to medication treatment in their own unique way and studies have shown that a person’s genes impact how their body and mind respond to the prescribed medication. In the case of psychiatric medication, our psychiatrists like to tailor treatment to the individual patient.

Our psychiatrists will partner with you and the therapist to develop a manageable plan for your treatment and recovery. Our psychiatrist, based off all the information gathered, may prescribe medications and/or provide recommendations on sleep hygiene, nutrition, exercise, or other alternative options.

Our psychiatrists will only suggest treatments that are proven to be safe, effective, and have the least amount of side affects.

Our psychiatrists will explain:

  • why they recommend specific treatments

  • how those treatments work

  • what the possible side-effects are and how they might impact you

  • they will review any potential risks and benefits of the treatment

  • And they will review the costs of any treatment that is offered at our clinic.

What other treatments may be combined with medication?

Our team believes that non-pharmacological interventions, provided by our team or other providers, can work with or without medication to optimize your desired outcome.  Some of the approaches our team may recommend after their assessment might be a standalone or combination of the following…

  • Medication

  • Psychotherapy, sometimes referred to as “talk therapy,” has been shown to be helpful for a variety of mental health issues including: depression, anxiety, stress, trauma recovery, substance abuse, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), and ADHD. Psychotherapy may involve specific modalities such as cognitive-behavioral therapy (CBT). The core of CBT focuses on realigning behavioral choices with what we value. Living a life that’s “in sync” with your personal values can relieve anxiety and improve a depressed mood.

  • Group therapy

  • EquineTherapy

  • EMD

  • Virtual Reality Therapy

  • Message therapy or acupuncture (not offered by our providers)

  • Nutritional assessment and support (not offered by our providers)
